Prayer Ministries

But Jesus Himself would often slip away to the wilderness and pray.—Luke 5:16,

Prayer is one of the most powerful weapons God has given us, but knowing how to pray is not always easy. Jesus’ disciples felt the same confusion. So when they came to Jesus, as told in Matthew 6, they didn’t say, “Teach us another prayer.” They said, “Lord, teach us to pray.”

The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13) is Christ’s response.

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy Name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
 Amen.

Christ asked us in Matthew 26:  “What, could ye not watch with me for one hour?”  By keeping with Christ for this time, we are partaking in the continuation of the Holy Mass while slowing down in our daily lives to reflect on God’s direction for our life.  This time allows Him to speak to us and provides us time to reflect on scripture, significance of the liturgical season and many other meditations provided within the Catholic Faith.
